Bowling Club

The Indoor Bowling Club meets in the Parish Centre each Wednesday from August to May, 7.30 - 10.00 pm.

We'd like to invite anyone who has never tried their hand at bowls (but secretly wanted to!) to come along and give it a go. Just pop in on Wednesday evenings for some light-hearted bowling. We can provide you with bowls if necessary, and good fun and a cuppa are guaranteed.

We are looking forward to the challenges of the new season, to renewing friendships from previous years, and to welcoming new members.

New members are very welcome, regardless of their previous bowling experience, and visitors are welcome at the invitation of a member. An annual subscription of £10 is due on or before October 31st. If you've any questions just give Cynthia Markwell a call on 9086 2553.

More about the club

The Indoor Bowling Club was formed in 1974, and since then has met every Wednesday night in the Parish Centre during the winter season.

We have 4 Bowling Mats which means 32 members can play at the same time, and we run a rinks competition every night with a shield being awarded at the end of the year to the person with the highest score.

We have 5 other internal Club Competitions; Ladies; Men; Mixed Pairs; and 2 Competitions open to all members, with Trophies being awarded for each of these at the end of the season.

Locally, we belong to the Glengormley and District Churches League, in which there are 12 other Clubs, so we have 6 Home and 6 away matches each season, home matches played on a Friday night.

This may sound as if the present members are Professionals; we would like to be, but we are still learning new skills every week!

All Church Members are assured of a warm welcome; a time of friendship, fellowship, and chat at Tea Time.
