Concert
There will be a concert on Friday 28 April at 7.30pm in Mossley Parish Church Hall. CWA Silver Band and Mossley Primary School Choir will be performing - tickets are now available from Barbara Boyd, Ann McCutcheon, Pat Flint, John McQuillan & Clifford Bell or any member of Friends of Tansen and the CMS Support Group at a cost of £8 (including a light supper) in aid of Tansen Hospital and CMS for Nepal.

Nepal Disaster
Following the terrible events of last weekend in Nepal, a country very close to the hearts of many in the congregation, the Friends of Tansen and the CMS Support Group have come together in an effort to raise money jointly to alleviate the suffering in this disaster-stricken country.
It was agreed that all funds raised in the month of May, on behalf of the people of Nepal, would be combined and distributed by the joint committees in a way that will best serve the needs of the people affected by this horrific disaster. To this end the two groups will be attempting to raise funds in three ways: 1. Adam Beattie will be taking part in the Belfast Marathon, and there is a sponsorship form in the porch if you would like to support his efforts. 2. There will be a Chinese Banquet night at the Bamboo Restaurant in Templepatrick at 7.30pm on Friday 22nd May at a cost of £25 per person. A sign-up sheet is available in the porch and in the Hall. 3. There will be a retiring collection after each service in May and the money collected will go to the joint fund. The committees would ask those taxpayers who contribute/sponsor to consider Gift Aiding their contributions in order that the tax can be reclaimed as well. Prayer Request
Our prayers are requested for all those who have been so cruelly affected by yesterday's disaster in Nepal. We think especially of our friends in Tansen and Sundar Dukar.

Marathon
Adam Beattie and Ciara Luke will be running the Belfast Marathon on Monday 4th May on behalf of Friends of Tansen. Please support them by filling in the sponsor sheet in the Church porch.

CMS Support Group
At our committee meeting on 25th Sept, one of the members suggested that, as a Parish, we expend so much effort with foreign missions that we tend to forget about home missions. At present there is a great need in our own Church and community, so in the foreseeable future when we have a fund-raising event, 50% of monies raised will go to SD Church in Nepal, and 50% will be used to help local people. We already have several families in mind.
Plans are being made for a Christmas Dinner on Sunday 30th November - watch this space! There will be a meeting of the CMS Support Group on Thursday 23rd October at 8.30pm in the Links room.29 Sep

Thanks to everyone who supported last Sunday's Soup and Cheese Lunch, when £300 was raised towards Tansen Hospital, Nepal.

Soup and Cheese Lunch
Friends of Tansen are organising a Soup and Cheese Lunch after the Family Service on Sunday 21st September. All proceeds will go towards the Tansen visit.
